We had four grandchildren before our first grand-daughter was born. We were ecstatic when she arrived. She is as beautiful as her name is. Mila. This is the first quilt I made for Mila - with bright fun colors and appliqued characters all around the edges. All prints are 30 reproduction prints. Such a cute pattern. |
I loved this pattern, Tumbling Blocks, and I was very optimistic about my quilting skills! I dove right in and finally finished the challenge for little Max. After the last stitch was finished, I announced I would never make this quilt again. Dreadful "Y" seams are not for beginners.
This dreamy little crib quilt and wall hanging is "out of this world cute." The prints had little stars and the background was fluffy clouds for the bear to dream on. Quinn was the grandson that got this gift when he was born.
"There's A Dog On My Quilt" pattern was a simple nine patch, but the dog was inserted into the blocks. The dog and ball were pieced blocks and not appliqued. Such a darling pattern for my little grandson, Jeremy. This dog on the quilt doesn't look like his new puppy, though.
This simple pattern was paper pieced, and quite easy. This takes me back to my early days of quilting - almost seventeen years ago. This little quilt flew all the way to NYC to welcome my very first grandchild. I treasure the memories of those sweet days. Love to Jordan.
Welcome to another grand-son, our newest, Benjamin. This was the second time I did this pattern, and it was a blast to do. The animals are really cute and finding just the right fabric for each animal is like a treasure hunt. The animals are blanket stitched on the blocks, by hand., and just in case you can't see the center block, it is Mr and Mrs Noah.
This is little Emery. She is not a grand-daughter, but a grand-niece. (Is there such a thing?)
Emery got a crib quilt with the alphabet - also hand stitched around the lettering. All of these prints were 30 reproduction prints and so cute for little children's quilts.

These two pink quilts are most recent patterns I've made, and were commissioned pieces. The grey and pink one was so cute I had to make it twice! I hope you have enjoyed looking at some of my grand-children's quilts - and remembering back when each child came into our family. God is so good, blessing us with all these young children in our lives. Hugs and kisses to Jordan, Quinn, Max, Jeremy, Mila and Benjamin.
